When we decided to sell our house and purchase a new one we asked a neighbor who recently used the services of Heather Blacksmith if they'd recommend her. In July of this year, my wife and I decided to purse the next chapter of our journey in the greater Seattle area. With little more than a general knowledge of Seattle and its surrounding towns that was almost 30 year old, we set off to find a home. She sorted through dozens of listings and presented only those to us that met those requirements that we set. Once we found the house that met our needs and exceeded our expectations, she was then extremely helpful in helping us to explore financing, close on the house, and then make a number of key contacts to help us get settled in our new neighborhood. In fact, Heather and her family were there when the first load of boxes and furniture showed up from Portland to welcome us and to help us unpack! I was terrified about the process of buying a home. I had no idea what I was doing or how any of this worked. Heather walked me through every part of it and answered all of my questions. She is so knowledgeable and patient when teaching others about what goes into buying a home. Not only that, but Heather worked so hard to find me the perfect spot! She could always tell when I was not really wanting a house we were visiting and would not let me settle on something that wasn't right for me. As a result, I ended up with the perfect condo in Edmonds that I love! Heather would not let me get something I did not love. On top of all that, Heather made sure that my bid was competitive. In a crazy market, Heather made sure that I won in the escalation. It was fantastic. Throughout the process Heather advocated for me and encouraged me. From the moment we were interested in starting the process of buying a home until closing, Heather was an amazing Real Estate Agent. Her consistency, experience, and ability to communicate and negotiate well with the broker, seller and us was outstanding. We were introduced to Heather through a mutual friend - and we are so glad that we were! From the start, Heather was a pleasure to work with and put us at ease on our house hunt. Being new to the area, Heather gave us great advice from a local perspective and helped us think about and understand all the variables that led to the successful purchase of our new home. We moved to north of Seattle suburbs on a 3 month lease while looking to buy. This was during summer of 2018, in the middle of a insanely difficult housing market for buyers. Being new to the area, we were unfamiliar with challenges buyers were facing. We were given Heather's contact information by our lender and couldn’t have been more satisfied with the process. While the process of home buying was much more challenging than we expected (competitiveness, we were not familiar with the area, and our short purchasing window), Heather gave us excellent guidance, especially with guidance on the area and the timeliness when we were racing to buy before our lease was up. She was great at advising on pro/cons for things we had not thought of being from a small town. Although I plan to die in this house, if I change my mind, I will definitely use Heather again.

I am a first time homebuyer thanks to Heather and cannot recommend her enough. She is equal parts comforting and knowledgeable. She moved at our pace completely-- meeting with us an entire year in advance of our purchase date to help educate us on the road ahead without applying any pressure, but then hitting the pavement hard at warp-speed when we were finally ready. We met Heather in early December 2017, when she was showing an open house. We were very impressed with Heather who was very amicable and listened to our situation and ask questions and provided advice during the open house. She followed up very promptly that same evening with the answers to some of our questions. Before hiring Heather to represent us, we ask multiple questions and Heather was very honest and truthful with us. She then looked for a suitable condo, and within a few days came up with a possible property. Heather was very accommodating and would check out & visit the property in advance and liaise with the selling agent to build a good relationship with the selling agent. Heather seemed to go the extra mile for us, and nothing was ever a problem for her. With Heather's advice and guidance we were successful in purchasing a condo in Seattle and beat out multiple other strong offers on the table.
